Performance Cruising
Performance Cruising is new a division created for those larger, faster Cruiser/Racers who don’t wish to sail the Windward/Leeward style courses but still want to be out on the water competing with similar types of boats.  Courses will be designed to be crew friendly.

The Twilights
We have 23 Wednesday twilight races scheduled this summer. The first in Series 1 will be 7 October. There will be a trophy race on 21 October to allow keen offshore sailors to compete in the BYC Overnight Offshore Race. The Ladies Race has been scheduled for 16 December – the last race of the Series.

Series 2 will start with a trophy race on 6 January to ease everyone into the new series. There will also a trophy race on 24 February – immediately before the Crown Series. At least one of the trophy races will be a pursuit race. Details will be announced closer to the date.

Offshore Race
BYC will conduct an overnight offshore on Wednesday 21 October. This is part of the Combined Clubs Offshore Series. The safety category for this race will be Category 5N. The race will start at 1900 and the aim is to set a course to have most yachts finished in time to enjoy the Show Day public holiday.

Long Distance Trophy Race
The Galapagos Duck long distance trophy race provides an event for those who do not wish (or are equipped) to participate in the Maria Island race.

Pursuit Race
BYC will combine with the Geilston Bay Boat Club to conduct a pursuit race on Sunday 10 January. Significant prizes will be available and both spinnaker and non- spinnaker divisions will be programmed.

Crown Series Bellerive Regatta 2010 – 26, 27 and 28 February

The regatta will be held on 26, 27 and 28 February. This year the Tasmanian Trailable Yacht Championship will be held as part of the regatta. We expect a large contingent of yachts from Northern Tasmania and hope to see some of the yachts sitting in sheds around Hobart out on the water.

Winter Series
Following a successful return to a round the buoys format last season, the format for 2010 will be the same with some improvements as a result of feedback from competitors.

Combined Clubs Series
As well as the Offshore Series BYC will also participate in the Combined Clubs Midweek Afternoon and Super Sunday Series. The dates for the BYC races are shown in the BYC Sailing Calendar.
